Our little dog flew around the corner, skidded across the floor, but managed to get out the door, barking. Pretty soon she was leaping about 2/3 of the way up this 6 foot fence trying to get to a terrified opossum she had chased away from the house. It was too scared to move away -- I had time to go back into the house and grab the camera.

Several individuals performing an interesting social behavior (looked like a pre-mating contest or chase) involving some individuals chasing others along a fallen Arbutus menziesii branch. Conspicuous and charming. Later in the day two seen mating on same branch.

An Island first! I have been expecting my first Bluethroat at this exact spot on Qikiqtaruk for many years - and today it finally happened with this displaying male. My observations over the coming days would continue to see this male displaying here, as well as a few others, and ultimately lead to a female and the second-ever Bluethroat nest for Canada.

At base of alpine scree slope, just below where the trail (old road) reaches Blowdown Pass. No other Chlosyne sp seen on the way up.

Lifer! I've been trying to figure out how to access the alpine peaks behind Lillooet, so finding them here saves a much longer trek.
