Piedbald spotted salamander - H (Hermione)
Pink Salmon attempting to mate with female Chinook Sslmon. Taken with a GoPro camera
On the first spring day with a warm rain the salamanders emerge and migrate across a road to their breeding area.
Lifer for me, and as far as I can tell, the first record from the Le Pinacle subpopulation in quite a while. Last few pictures are habitat shots.
Wondering if this is A. hemiophrys but not sure what I'm looking for to distinguish between it and americanus- yes- it's wild. west side of the northern Sable Island on Lake of the Woods (this time of year there are thousands of toads (mostly babies) there so this one caught my eye for being different)
On en trouve souvent chaque année depuis longtemps

What a sight to behold, if you peer into the structure built around the area where Pioneer Springs seeps out of the ground in Meeman-Shelby Forest--salamanders everywhere, and the whole area glittered with their eggs!
Field research with USFWS and USGS.
Seen on my property around 10 am at the edge of a ravine - Vienna ontario
Five in one bush, plus a garter
This was not my observation, I pulled the image and estimated the location of the observation from a news article (http://vocm.com/news/could-an-invasive-snake-population-have-set-up-in-middle-arm/). As there are no observations of reptiles in Newfoundland, I thought this was worth posting as an important exotic species that appears to have established a population on the island.
I found this wild frog in a pond in Nova Scotia and it looks kinda like a normal frog but it’s yellow and has red eyes
Northern water snake. What is it eating?
Found on the street/lawn of a house after coming out from under garbage cans.
Basking in the sun, including a group of presumably recently born massasaugas. Original raw file of the young massassaugas is available.

Although DNA tests are required for complete certainty, an excellent candidate for Texanum based on measurements and morphology. 15 Costal Grooves (foreleg to vent); approx. 2.0mm internarial distance; 14cm total length; underbite (can be seen in third photo); blunt snout with head appearing swollen behind eyes.
I fished the spotted salamander out of our pool and places it near our fish pond.
