Description
Trying to determine who made these well-preserved bite marks on this purple passionflower fruit found on the ground in back backyard "native meadow." The marks go all the way around the fruit and there appears to be a clear top and bottom side. They appear to have bitten down and then given up: no further feeding signs on this particular fruit. Measurements on 2nd photo. What a fun little mystery!

Ants creating a structure on the the underside of ironweed leaves. There are 2 structures pictured here, one that's a complete dome, the other still in construction. There appears to be treehoppers on the midrib in the center of the open structure, maybe Publilia. Ant architecture! 🐜

No red tail, and markings seem off for a red-tailed hawk. I think it was eating an eastern cottontail, but I cannot tell for sure based on pictures.

Viewed from the basement window. Deerald seems to have decided this was a great place to snooze overnight. It couldn't see me, so I managed to get a few great shots of just how much I need to wash these windows.
