I first saw the specimen peeking out from a folded piece of kelp. When I repositioned the kelp it it left the leaf and moved across the petri dish. Approximately 3mm

Description
On sand/gravel under white pine and white cedar in mixed woods. Cap 3 cm., alternating hairy bands of brown, orange and cream with sunken center, fringed margin, brown flesh.. Pore surface brownish. Stem brown, felted. cap surface black with KOH.

Description
The color appears wrong from my vehicle headlights. In real life these were a peach/salmon color. Internal hell texture when broken. Didn't notice a distinct smell, but I had been eating peppermint, so 🤣

Small whitish cup fungi on decorticated log in a mixed forest.
Apothecia 0.5-1.2mm in diameter, deep cup.
Asci 8-spored.
Ascospores cylindrical, measured
(5.6) 5.64 - 5.9 × 0.6 - 0.7 µm
Q = (8.3) 8.34 - 9.5 ; N = 4
Me = 5.8 × 0.6 µm ; Qe = 8.9

Description
Under Sequoia sempervirens, Notholithocarpus densiflorus, and Pseudotsuga menziesii. Growing above the ground, attached at base. Gasteroid fungus, exterior black and lumpy, reminiscent of a dry dog's nose. Flesh white, interior hollow.
