-Maxillary palpus and slender
-Last segment of maxillary palpus subequal but not distinctly shorter leads toward Enochrus (Enochrus) sp. The only known species from Canada is E. piceus occurs in the west. However, the description provided by Smetana (1988) for the species does not seem to match the specimen in question. After conducting further research, a species from the Palearctic region belonging to the same subgenus, E. melanocephalus, appears to be a better match based on the available description. Any opinion?@mpintar@staslit

Attracted to moth bait on mature poplar in old field - garden - mixed woods habitat along coast of Northumberland Strait.
This is a different individual from the one I posted a few minutes ago. This one has slightly different markings and fewer mites / eggs around the perimeter, and was visible simultaneously with the other.

Attracted to moth bait on mature poplar in old field - garden - mixed woods habitat along coast of Northumberland Strait.
I get a lot of Glischrochilus at my moth bait in April / May but I've never had this species before (assuming correct ID). Appears to be only the third observation of this species at iNaturalist and only three records at BugGuide.
@e-aus-kanada @bmathison
EDIT: I'm just noticing all the mites or eggs around the perimeter of the beetle.
