Description
Species: Spotted-tailed Quoll (southern subsp.) Dasyurus maculatus maculatus
Time and Date: approx. 14.30 hrs on 06th May 2021
Location: Warrego Highway, east of Gatton, Lockyer Valley SEQ
GPS: GDA94 – S27.54138 x E152.296771; +/- 20 metres
Observers: Rod Hobson, Bruce Lawrie and Mark Weaver
Comments: Dead adult male on roadside; obvious vehicle strike. Estimate that the carcass was about 2 days old. Unable to take as specimen but photographs taken (shall forward photograph under separate cover). Surrounding area mostly cleared agricultural land but small remnants of bushland close to the north and extensive areas of bushland much further north. Record submitted to DES database WildNet on 07th May 2021.
Bill, Terry, you travel this road regularly. The body was on the southern side of the highway on its verge near that area of wetland east of Gatton and close to the base of the traffic monitoring camera.

Description
Photo kindly sent to me by Daniel Rumsey and shared on iNaturalist with permission. This photo was sent to Dan by a tourist who accidentally ran over the animal. I have personally contacted the station owners to look for the deceased animal to collect it for the Australian Museum.
