Royal Tyler There were two people in North America over the past 40 years who could reliably visually distinguish these two species for the past several decades in eastern NA. One was the late Fred Rindge (AMNH), and the other was me. I provided numerous thousands of Louisiana geometrids to Rindge in the 70s, 80s, and 90s for identification. Based upon your illustrated image, this specimen appears to be Lygris gracilineata female.

Apical fifth of each antenna is dark gray, concolorous with rest of antenna. Corpus bursae with single signum that is a dentate band. Ventral margin of ostium deeply concave with two lateral rods. Cluster of 4 teeth on ductus bursae, the two largest almost appearing as one in some views.
