Trachypepla galaxias (Meyrick, 1883). F.L. 5.5 mm. Endemic. Common.

Habitat, seasonality and behaviour 5

Adults may be found in native forest from late October to February, more commonly November to January. They may be disturbed from vegetation by day and later fly at night and come to light.

Life history 5

Unknown, but larvae of the related T.contritella feed on the pendulous old man’s beard moss, pupating in the feeding place.
