Stigmella sophorae (Hudson, 1939). Endemic.

Habitat, seasonality and behaviour 6

Habitat is well drained hillsides and along stream-sides where the larval foodplant is found. Adults recorded February and August to December.

Life history 6

Foodplant: Sophora tetraptera and S. microphylla. Mine: starting in random loops and later filling all space between cuticles. Frass green later turning to grey. Larva: recorded April-August; 2-3 mm long, pale green. Cocoon: pale brown, attached to stem of host plant.

Forewing 2-5 mm
