Vanicela disjunctella (Walker, 1864). Endemic. Widespread & Common.

Adults are generally found from September through to January. They can be taken both by day and later at night when they come to light.

Life history 4

The larvae of all Gracillariidae start as leaf miners. Larvae make serpentine mines in young leaves, then feed on leaves from the outside; pupates in basket weave cocoon on underside of a leaf. Foodplant: Alectryon excelsus Gaertn., Sapindaceae (Soap berry family). (PlantSynz).
