Monopis dimorphella

TINEIDAE: Fungus Moths, Clothes Moths & Allies 4

Monopis dimorphella (Dugdale, 1971). Endemic.

According to Hoare "Differs from M. ethelella by the very smooth, rather than irregular margin to the yellow stripe along the hind margin of the forewing. Also the hyaline (semitransparent) spot is much closer in this species to the yellow stripe than in ethelella, and smaller. Not often seen, and often confused with the much commoner ethelella.
