Izatha balanophora (Meyrick, 1897). Endemic.

It is widespread but a relatively uncommon species in the North Island. It has a flight period from December to March, with most specimens occurring in January and February. Adults occasionally come to light.

Life history 6

According to Hoare (2010), Two specimens have been reared from dead kanuka (Kunzea ericoides) but the larvae have not been described.
