Lots. Some with fragments of the squid still attached
Approx 3 or 4 feet long to the tips of the tentacles. Doesn’t look like opalescent or stubby squid.
Pointed out to me by a couple of birders, who suggested it had been “caught by the low tide". They moved it atop the rock.
Compellingly beautiful creature, the photo does not do it justice.
Seek could not identify, even to order.
Of the two species in these waters, looks much more like a Humboldt than an Opalescent.
Seen with one other cluster nearby.
Big one that was quite shy. It had a really nice bronze tint.

Unusual to see during daytime. Under jetty so low light. Depth 3m. Quite a lot of separate egg masses on jetty piles.
