Quite a few plants in this area, and I note a previous Carex observation from here was identified as C. solandri. Terminal pedunculate male inflorescence and several lateral pedunculate female inflorescences per culm. Leaves weakly M-shaped in section.
From here in the estuary, up at least 500m, ie. past the bridge, Hokio Stream is choked with this
This plant forms a dense border along this stream, a bright green swathe clearly visible from the satellite view. It appears to be trying to choke off the stream, but not succeeding against the current. It forms wide swampy edges to the stream. Not a dunes denizen, it is limited to the stream banks.
Climbing from open area into surrounding trees (not to any great height).
Growing out of http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/1363584 - quite possibly just the same.
Trackside on lower Lodestone Track. Many found before and after this spot.
The site of slip of ca 2022 is very weed-infested including this sp.
On boulder.
Terrestrial on boulders. Old rata spar nearby.
