Power nesting - seen while power walking
This adult female Lesser Frigatebird was one of 17 lesser frigatebirds riding the nor'wester over the headland at Siesia. They soared for about a kilometer one way along the coast with quite variable, but usually significant, elevation. This bird came quite low to see what the fisherpeople on the wharf were up to!
the pattern of the marking on the underparts and the dark eye with the lack of a yellow eye-ring show it is a Brush Cuckoo not a Fan-tailed Cuckoo - confirmed on eBird and ABID
