Leaf is twice compound and oblong branches. Leaflets are rounded and pointed loves and tips. Stem is grooved green to straw color. Base is dark. Low leaf.

Unidentified dicot (?). Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, Broad Channel, Queens, NY. West Pond trail. Round/ovoid growth form, leaves present but few and narrow so plant has leafless appearance, sessile flowers (?) distinctive. Most conspicuous near repaired breach in West Pond trail where some plants reach large size, perhaps 2-3 feet in diameter.

Note the long setae on ocrea.
