Can anyone tell me what this is? A teacher inherited a collection of shells--no locations, no dates, no names. Google image gives back lace curtains, so no help there. I will delete it if there isn't a better location, etc. Just hoping to help get a name on it for her to use at school.
bar clams harvested by myself and two other people in Holland Cove PEI
It made hissing sound when scared and got away in the grass
Identified by Fisheries Biologist
iNaturalist identified this bird as possibly a Barn Owl based on the picture of the feet alone. Pretty amazing. I went back and took more pictures. As is shown, the carcass is separated. It is lying on the edge of a busy road. The top of the carcass is about 8 feet from the road. The bottom is about 4’ beyond, further from the road and in line with the top. It has been there for a few days. I originally thought it might be a chicken but got curious. Surprised that the Turkey Vultures or Crows haven’t been at it. My guess is hit by a car, but the arrangement seems odd. Any ideas?

I flipped the snake over. It did not have a red belly.
