Cup Moth Caterpillar (Doratifera)
body 4 or 5 cm long, with the hairs being as long as the caterpillar. Found on what my family keeps calling a Quinine bush, but it's a Brazillian pepper tree.
I’d love to know what this little dude is. It has been living on a native mulberry bush in my yard in Cooroy.
This one was found on the beach just above high tide line (hence the sand) so it must have been lost. Usually see them in open annual grassland, eg old paddocks, roadsides etc. The pink spots along the back can also be light yello, khaki green and even pale blue/grey.
