rock mustard, Halimolobos jaegeri, California, Inyo County, White Mountains, Bitterbrush Flat, Deep Springs Valley watershed, elevation 2022 m (6635 ft).
Tentative ID. Blue-flowered population.
A modest southward range extension for this taxon. I did not find it on the north summit of Pyramid Peak, and did not traverse across the notch to the south summit. Populations along the Sherwin Crest seemed healthy and robust, fresh flowers and possible recruitment was observed. It is my belief that more southward range extensions are possible, and knowing the southern range limit of this central Sierran endemic is important on my levels. If anyone knows of, or has heard of, occurrences of the plan further south send me a message!
