High branches of specimen tree shows last years remaining seeds and new leaves emerging
Very small spider, fell from his web out side when I grabbed the broom
I am not 100% convinced on sp. but I am fairly certain this is not P. banksiana. The cones were smaller than a Jack pine, and they hung from the branch instead of clasping to the side. Highly resinous, rich red trunk bark. These trees were all found in an isolated stand, with no other common pine species nearby. Other tree species found nearby:
Quercus muehlenbergii
other sp. in Quer. sect. Rubra.
Platanus occidentalis
Juniperus virginiana
