A very interesting interaction between a ringed paper wasp consuming a monarch caterpillar, while a spider jumps and jabs the both of them. The monarch was still alive while this was happening, I saw it opening its jaw and moving its head trying to bite the wasp apparently

I found this Monarch chrysalis in some flowers in front of my apartment building about three weeks ago. It has survived 4 nights of temperatures in the low 30's and a couple of cold rainy days. Today this Monarch emerged from the chrysalis. As a caterpillar it must have been eating a honeyvine milkweed plant that is in the flowerbed as there are no other milkweed plants nearby. I did not think monarchs would still be around and able to survive here this late in the year. Is this normal? The monarch was rested and released the next day after drinking some honey in water.
