These squirrels were abundant at this site! Many signs abounded.

Tracks found on the edge of a pond. Clear indications of exploratory holes.
tracks coming from large silver or red maple with cavities going through field through Japanese knotweed. fluffy snow, difficult to see detailed prints. Tracks ~2 inches long, ~15 inches from front of track to next track.

At stream crossing and snowmobile bridge. Direct register. 13Lx6-12W. 80-95cm stride. Other tracks indistinct. Blackberry, moose maple type shrubs around.
Slug feeding sign on lichen growing on a red alder tree. Judging by the rasp marks, this was a large slug.
Approximately 10cm long by 15cm wide. 80cm shown on tape measure. Tracks found on snowmobile trail. Nearby snowmobile trail post shows wear from bear chewing, scratching, and rubbing.
4 pads. No nails. Large metacarpel. 5Lx5w cm. Right side track, but not sure if front or rear. In trail. No other print. Heading north. Other tracks nearby include deer and possible turkey.

The first beaver tracks I have found on the South Fork Eel River in the past 20 years. Location is just above the confluence of the main Eel River. Tracks found under the Highway 101 bridge.
Deep tracks in fresh mud, showing dew claws. My evidence that this is not hog: only two individuals, walking close together in seemingly orderly fashion. Plus, no gig damage or scat have been seen in the area in years.

Canada Goose track provides scale. Several photos have raccoon tracks as well.
This cougar was on the river bar below my place. It did some stalking and then took off into an all-out gallop. The gallop was in gravel, so left indistinct tracks. However, the two tracks just prior to the animal took off into the run are amazing and clear.
