Rio Grande Valley March 2014
Clifton Ladd, Cullen Hanks, and I spent March 7-10 birding and just being naturalists in the Texas Rio Grande Valley. We started at Falcon State Park and worked our way down to Port Isabel and Brownsville. An unexpected and fun bird find on our recent south Texas trip was two singing Cassin's Sparrows. When we saw the first one we thought it was a Field Sparrow, but it didn't quite look right. It started singing to set us straight!
