Radek, thanks for listing all those names which had been used for such hybrids!
I need to check which one was prior at species level as this one was valid. Although i din't study the IBCN, i do suppose there was no need to recognize as distinct hybrid, thus the species level shall equal the taxonomic rank.
So far A. Braun had described the hybrid as "ssp. trachyodon", this had not priority for the different, lower rank. In case E. mackaii (Newman) Brichan had been published before E. trachyodon (A. Br.) W.D.J. Koch, it had priority right and was recommendet to be used.
Will try to find publications of those taxa.

I found the publication of Equisetum trachyodon A. Braun but was not sure if this was a valid publication, need to study the whole description.

After reading the publication, which seems not to have been written by Braun himself, it's clear that "E. trachyodon" was treated as subspecies of E. hyemale togther with E. ramosissimum and E. variegatum. Saying that publication as distinct species or hybrid will have been past Brichan's E. mackaii which was the valid prior name for the hybrid.
One needed to read the prospected "soon to be released" "Flor. badens. cryptog." where the same taxonomic concept shall have been published.
Since A. Braun preferred to treat his E. trachyodon as subspecies, it was at lower rank and got no priority over E. mackaii. I do not know when Koch published his naming, but do suppose it was later.
W.D.J. Koch seems to have published the journal or at least the article with description of E. trachyodon presented by A. Braun as subspecies of E. hyemale. Thus i would cite as Equisetum hyemale ssp. trachyodon A. Braun ex W.D.J. Koch, 1839.
