Photo 1 is the same as for the last obs., but our moss with 3 baby setae is in my fingers. Photo 2 shows the setae, 3 shows gives a view from above.

I have two observations in the same patch of moss.
Good visual match with http://www.nzplants.auckland.ac.nz/en/about/mosses/native-species/find-by-genus-name.html
In photo 1 our moss with long down pointing setae can be seen, it is at 4 o'clock from the moss I am holding, centres about 6 cm distant. Photo 2 shows capsule, 3 shows stipe.

Two partial view of a tree which has a huge moss clump on its branch, unfortunately too high to get near to. You can see tawari top right. The orchid hangs from the moss, so the orchid photo shows this tree.

Description

The patch of moss is on earth, in the bush, and is 0.7m diameter. The foliage umbrellas are up to 5 cm diameter, and the individuals are up to 8 cm high. This one is branched. The sporophyte grows from the lower of two layers. Photos show: patch, the two layers of foliage, sporophyte base, frond with leaves showing nerves, stipe, capsule.
