Flying low over the beach, where there were lots of pipits and dunnocks feeding in the seaweed. See here for one pipit's reaction:

Description

Several adult birds roaming around and feeding near the high tide line where there is a lot of seaweed washed up. They are very tame, walking up to within 1.5 m (and closer) if you stay still. The last few images show one bird's reaction to a NZ falcon flying overhead; see
