They move easily in what seems to be a clear, jello-like tube. Most we dark brown but some were much lighter. This grassy area consistently fills with water when it rains and retains that water for a day or two. The water is always that golden-brown whiskey color. The area is mostly shady and the water’s ph is usually neutral or close to it, according to litmus paper

Thigmotropic ferns which fold their leaves inward when touched. This is the first time I’ve seen a plant like this with a light colored stripe in the middle.
