Description

In native bush. I believe they were growing off tree roots, they were really adherent and difficult to pull out/dig out of the forest floor. There were four or so scattered over a metre. The trees were mainly beech, but I can't remember if this was near beech or something else. When I cut one in half, the cross section had a white rubbery texture through the stalk type area.

I am only guessing at plectania, I really have no idea what this is.

Description

Under an oak in little hagley park. These were all around the one tree. They had dark large flecks on the cap. The skirt was really adherent to the gills and in most of them (out of 15) it stayed attached. The stem was really thick in all of them, this was a very stout fungus.

I am very familiar with amanita excelsa spissa under the oaks in hagley. These had a much thicker stem to what I normally see, and the flecks on the cap were black, not white/pale grey. I wonder if frost can change the fleck colour and these are amanita excelsa spissa, just a thicker stem version?

Under a spruce tree. Yellow capped gilled mushroom, with a bright yellow cap. The young ones were all white. Unpleasant sour/bitter scent. Had a ring, but no volva seen. I was surprised it had no yellow staining when cut/scratched, I even checked 15 minutes later and they were still white everywhere apart from the cap.

In a field/public park in the grass, on the edge of a root zone of a large oak tree, there were gymnopilus junonius a metre away too. Slimy cap. White capped fungus in a cluster with orange specks on the cap and stem.

I thought cortinarius because of the veil and the orange marks on the stem. But I also see a kind of leratiomyces looks very similar.
