earlier in the track cheeky north Island tom tit circled and perched for 5mins. This bird flew and looked the same but was different in colour/ more grey.. is it indeed the south island tom tit or just a juvenile north island>

Looks like a pheasant, but i have never seen a bird so brightly coloured / so many colours in NZ bush... It also didnt seem concerned i was there - got with in 1 m easily.
