Date of capture uncertain but certainly in early April, most likely in the afternoon. Caught on hook and line in Fisher Bay, Middle Harbour. Bitten by a larger shark before landing.

Steve stated, "I caught it off Ballina NSW in about 190 fathoms by rod and reel whilst fishing for blueye trevalla and other deepwater species. It seemed pretty fat so it may have been a pregnant female."
