Description

The size of my fist,White/cream colour, underside photo attached. Found in the Native Garden in the Christchurch Botanic Garden on a log.
(leaves in photo are possibly not the same, it looked as if many of the logs had been bought to this area of the native garden)

Description

My favourite find of today. Phellinus AND slime mold. Is this unusual?
Growing on dead alder and covered in ivy which could have been underwater recently. I saw the spots and we cut away the ivy to find this.

It was very striking.

Description

Picture 4 shows how long it extended in the crack of the tree, at least a metre long. It was very moist, broke apart easily in the one part I could break off, strong odour that was pleasant.
