This guy was trying to cross busy route 5 which surely would have been the end of it. I scared him back in to a the roadside wetland where I assume he came from. Lots of other roadkill of frogs and snakes here. Small snake, maybe 9 inches long

This was in Mariposa grove in Yosemite. The day previous I had been higher on rock ledges (Olmstead Point) and heard loud grasshoppers. These guys weren't as loud so I'm guessing it's the Fontana. It looks similar to the Crackling picture

This was a pretty good sized fish, bigger than the seagull eating it. Not sure it's stripped bass. What skin was left was blue in the second photo

This guy was all black and was pretty good at moving across the lillypads although I'm sure he could swim too. I took a video but it wouldn't let me upload. I've seen snakes that look like this in this area before around water
