Description

A big pupa of a moth which I found in my backyard.I preserved for two days from which a big moth took birth.The only incidence in a life time to see moth taking birth. The date here is not correct as the date function was out of order.

A beautiful yellow color moth with eye like design and bordered big wings.Seen here laying many eggs.The egg laying was in front of my eyes.The only occasion in my life time as this action usually takes place behind one's eyes.The moth dies after laying eggs,it is heard.The best quality Tusser silk is obtained from its pupa.

It was in my backyard where I found the big pupa of this moth,which I preserved for a day and found the moth taking birth.A big surprise as the birth usually takes place at remote places which can not be seen.The moth after coming out waited to dry himself as seen here.The empty shell is also seen in the image.

Description

Butterflies have a four stage life cycle as the egg,the larva,the pupa and full gown butterfly.The image shows the birth of Common Mormon butterfly when it comes out from its pupa.The image shows the butterfly half out from the pupa,the outer shell of the pupa opened and the out coming butterfly with its antennas,the proboscis,the eyes etc.The drama of the moment exactly caught.To get such shots I had to keep awake for the whole night as the moments were uncertain.But the efforts have ended up with these nice shots.
