Human (Homo sapiens)Observer
tangatawhenuaDescription
Rare sighting of a homo sapien browsing in a Rata Moehau.
Before this sighting, he was spotted disappering into the bush and after a chase of about an hour (and scrambling up and down gullies) we finally caught up with him here.
High in the tree top, he finally came down and offered leaves from the Rata Moehau which is a good thing as I would not have been able to get close up photos of those leaves otherwise! Also in the Maori world, leaves are offered and picked up to indicate peaceful intentions.
I think this species is Ngati Tatimana but couldn't find that in the taxon.
Wasn't too sure if to tick the Was it captive / cultivated box either.
http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/2762845 shows the leaves offered.

Domestic Horse (Equus caballus)Observer
tangatawhenuaDescription
These would be wild horses, didn't see the rest of the herd or the stallion. Not too sure if these come under Domestic horse, but I figure that they are descended from domestic horses.
