I bought this from a local nursery about 25 years ago to stabilise a bank it forms a dense ground-cover mat and excludes any competing vegetation. The label said it was a Rubus - forget the species. It has taken off and is quite aggressive - I keep hacking it back. One wonders if it could be a pest plant.
