I have been working in botany for 15 years. For the last ten years, I have worked for the Eastern Nevada Landscape Coalition (ENLC). We are a non-profit organization that works closely with federal land management agencies and other non-profits. Our mission is to restore the arid lands of the West (US), but we really specialize in collecting various data, especially vegetation data, to help inform and address land management issues. Most of our work is in the Mojave and Great Basin portions of Nevada. I have been fortunate to have spent a considerable amount of time in many of the ranges and valleys across these ecoregions, always with an eye towards the plants. I also manage a small, regional herbarium. An herbarium is essentially a dead, dried, pampered plant library. More information on that can be found at the link below. Previously, I worked at the William L. Brown Center at the Missouri Botanical Garden, traveling throughout the U.S. collecting plant specimens and samples for bioassays.
