Aquatic reserves are protected areas established by Washington Department of Natural Resources to promote the conservation and enhancement of significant marine and freshwater habitats and the processes that sustain them. Eight aquatic reserves have been established so far and DNR's Aquatic Reserves Program works collaboratively with many partners to study, protect, restore, and promote stewardship of these exceptional places. This account is used to document species seen while monitoring aquatic reserves and is used by Aquatic Reserve Program staff and a team of scientific technicians.
