I am a Track and Sign Specialist with CyberTracker. (I earned 100% in Redwood forest bioregion in 2016. I got 100% in the California desert bioregion in 2019.) I am one of only two women on this continent who have earned two certifications at this level. I enjoy studying the tracks and signs of all animals, with a special interest in bears and pumas. (Thus, my handle of Beartracker.) My local area provides many opportunities to track wildlife of various species. I have been interested in nature since I was a kid in the suburbs. Now that I live rural, I have so many opportunities to explore! In addition to mammals, I also love plants, fungi, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and bugs and insects! I run an educational web site all about animal tracks and signs that has been online since 1998. It was the first of its kind. I host several groups to help people identify tracks on Facebook and elsewhere. I promote tracking wherever I go.

My web site about tracks and signs: https://www.bear-tracker.com

Update: I earned a Trailing II and a Tracker II certificate from CyberTracker in 2018. I love tracking!

I curate two projects here on iNaturalist.
