I am a student at Tarleton State University studying population dynamics of Crotalus horridus in north Texas. I am also into insects, particularly wood-boring beetles (Cerambycidae & Buprestidae); I currently maintain a collection of beetles that numbers 20,000 & growing. My first word was “bug” & I haven’t shut up about them since. I reside in the western crosstimbers region of north Texas with my wife & son & some snakes that are older than my marriage or fatherhood.

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time

It is not that I am mad, it is only that my head is different from yours

The man who believes that the secrets of the world are forever hidden lives in mystery and fear. Superstition will drag him down. The rain will erode the deeds of his life. But that man who sets himself the task of singling out the thread of order on the tapestry will by the decision alone have taken charge of the world and it is only by such taking charge that he will effect a way to dictate the terms of his own fate.
