I live on an undeveloped 22 hectare property in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, South Africa. We like to refer to it as our "Nature Reserve". From 1993 I have observed the rehabilitation of the grassland on our Dolorite 'koppie', formally used for cattle grazing and been amazed at the diversity of flora and fauna. My primary interest is indigenous wildflowers, but increasingly also the myriad of smaller creatures associated with them.

I am an amateur naturalist; KZN Mountain Hiking, Nature and Culture Guide, spending much time in the KZN Drakensberg and Lesotho; a Custodians of Rare and Endangered Wildflowers, KZN Midlands, volunteer; photographer and artist.

My blog: documents observations mainly from our home.
