I'm a certified Desert Sands & Sky Islands California Naturalist and UC Climate Steward, as well as an instructor for the Nuestro Desierto, Desert Sands & Sky Islands, and UC Climate Stewards courses based in the Coachella Valley. I'm lucky to share my love of plants and lizards (mostly), promoting conservation of open spaces and relationships with native species in the desert.

I've worked with local agencies to advance community science programs, recreational trails planning, and education about desert ecosystems. I help coordinate the California Naturalist, UC Climate Stewards, and Wild Coachella programs at the UCR Palm Desert Center, and I serve on the boards of CactusToCloud Institute and the Mt. San Jacinto Natural History Association.

On iNaturalist, I focus on identifications of reptiles, amphibians, and desert plants within the Coachella Valley Ridge to Ridge Area (https://www.inaturalist.org/places/coachella-valley-ridge-to-ridge-area) and the California Desert Conservation Area (https://www.inaturalist.org/places/california-desert-conservation-area). I also add phenology annotations and plant interaction observation fields within these places to help use iNaturalist observations to learn more about our dynamic environment.
