I am a professor of plant ecology at the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Research Associate of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama. I have been studying and loving plants in California, Washington, Massachusetts, Illinois, Panama, and elsewhere for over three decades. My research focuses mainly on the biology of invasive plants. I like to learn about new species whenever I travel, and I think iNaturalist is fantastic.
