Plants fascinate me. I spend quite a bit of my springs and summers exploring the foothills and mountains of central Washington, enjoying the botanical bounty around me.
My academic background is in biology, ecology and plant taxonomy. I currently teach introductory biology classes at Yakima Valley College, including a natural history class that has helped me learn the flora and fauna myself.
The iNat platform has helped me grow in my knowledge of the local flora. I appreciate dialogue from other naturalists and welcome corrections and conversations.
Also, I'm happy to take requests to look for specific plants in central Washington. It's nice to hike with a mission and I'm happy to save you a trip.
