I have spent a great deal of time in the outdoors camping and canoe tripping in my youth. From 1978-1982 I completed an Honours BSc in Wildlife Biology at the University of Guelph. I have worked with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources doing wildlife related work and I worked for Environment Canada for nearly thirty years before retiring from my position with the Protected Areas division of the Canadian Wildlife Service. I continue to be an avid amateur naturalist and biologist and do volunteer work in education and with not-for-profit environmental organizations applying my skills and knowledge of flora and fauna. I report my sightings of birds to e-bird.org which is operated by the Cornell University Laboratory of Ornithology. Significant observations of other wildlife are reported to iNaturalist.
