I work for the Department of Conservation as a Technical Advisor in the Flora and Ecosystem Unit. I've worked in conservation for around 18 years. I'm interested in a range of things from plants, seabirds, marine mammals, lizards, cryptic wetland birds, plant communities and threatened ecosystems. Most of my observations (at present) are of sea wreck birds, fish, seals and small plants associated with coastal or wetland ecosystems. I'm keen to learn about new species, share observations and add to long term data sets. I won't be winning any awards for the most observations as I tend to only record observations for species I'm interested in, or that might be important for science or conservation. I also enjoy spending time identifying observations on iNaturalist.
