I live in 100 acres (41 ha) of beautiful natural Australian bush in Lowden WA and have got to know the flora and fauna of the property since 1993. I have kept random records of sightings (some years quite rigorous; some years very lazy!). The property name is Kambarang - the indigenous (Noongar) season of October-November, which was when we would see the most variety of wildflowers, particularly orchids, but in recent years they get earlier and earlier and now many more are in Djilba (August-September)
We have a cabin for holiday accommodation here and I enjoy showing interested guests a few of the wildflowers and helping them to 'see' whats around them (getting their wildflower eyes on!)
