I am a keen photographer, and through my macro photography I developed an interest in entomology that has resulted in me retraining (from Geophysics) to complete a PhD in Entomology, and am now working for the Western Australian Department of Primary Industry and Regional Development.

My area of study for my Master Env. Science was in the diversity and efficiency of pollinators on Mango.
My area of study for my PhD was in Biological control, examining the interactions of micro wasps that are parasitoids of whitefly.

I worked for a short while as R&D and QC manager at an insectary before moving to Western Australia to work on a fly pollination project, for crop pollination.

I am also a volunteer in the plant propagation team for the Friends of Kings Park.

I have set up two projects:

  1. Fly Pollination in Australia (must join to contribute)
    Fly Pollination Project

  2. Fauna of Kings Park, WA (automatically adds photos taken within Kings Park).
