Locally common on scoriaceous basalt lava stems and petioles covered with copious antrorse rather than retrorse stem and petiole hairs, stipules small, rounded, obtuse tipped, evenly covered in hairs with the margins distinctly hairy. Leaves copiously but finely hairy on both surfaces, glaucescent, rather than green, dark green, red-green or purple. Seeds not distinctly ribbed.
