Description

Locality: NEW ZEALAND AK, suburb of Saint Johns, University of Auckland Tamaki Campus.

Habitat: Swards of long grass. A pair of ants in copula when found (see final photo).

Identification: Ponera leae Forel, 1913. Alate female. Note that reproductive females have much larger eyes than workers.
