Plants greyish-green when fresh, distinctly velutinous, involucral bracts of capitula 10-13, glabrescent, 5-7 mm long; cypsela (not illustrated) 2.2-3.o mm long, subcylindric, surface more or less evenly covered in short hispid hairs. growing with Arthropodium cirratum, Astelia banksii, Hebe saxicola. Voucher lodged in AK.
